TrendZ - Man-Make-up, Anyone?

Okay, we all love a well groomed man, and raise no eyebrows when it comes to his regular sojourn to the beauty parlour for a pedicure/manicure/facial - but there's a new beauty regime in town.

Latest trends are leaning towards the modern man (christened the "metrosexual") doing more to enhance his visage than the everyday moisturiser or the occasional eyebrow tweaking. Enter the man make-up!

We've heard of the manscara and the Guy-liner, and from as early as 2008, major stores in the UK and the rest of Europe introduced whole sections of their shops dedicated to men's "cosmetics" alone. So. . .apart from the handful of unafraid a-list celebs such as Robbie Williams and Russell Brand who made the man-liner look kinda cool, who else among the "normal" guys have we seen dipping their toe into the kohl-lined pool?

I certainly can not see the love of my life, going off to work with a hint of manscara on his lashes or a dash of liner in his eyelids - and I definitely can't picture him in the latest fad of wearing "blemish-concealing" foundation. A recent survey of men who allowed some of the man-make-up to be tried on them, admitted that it did help, but weren't sure they could stick to, or even remember the daily routine of foundation, eyeliner, eyebrow definer, or manscara. Manscara?? Some men naturally have longer, darker lashes than the average woman, so they should be the last ones in need of any help in that department!!

So in essence, with the arrival of so many boy bands, hunky metro-male models and the odd new rock band or two, it's obvious that the men in the limelight are certainly making make-up a part of their daily routine. Don't know about convincing our cautious, cringe-ready partners to follow in their footsteps though. What say you??
